Kronstadt is a separate city in Leningrad Oblast. Its special position is reinforced by the fact that until 1996 this city, founded in 1704 on an island in the Gulf of Finland, was closed to outsiders because it housed military factories and strategic facilities. Perhaps that is why there remained a completely unusual atmosphere, unusual for other areas of St. Petersburg.
Kronstadt is not as beautiful as Peterhof or Tsarskoe Selo. He personifies the military power of the glory of Russia and the former power of its fleet. Abandoned docks, forts and lighthouses create a unique atmosphere that has recently become available to tourists.
There are 3 harbours on the south of the city: the large western or merchant harbour, the western flank of which is formed by a great pier joining the fortifications which traverse the breadth of the island on one side.
In our sightseeing tour, you will see all the main sights of the city-fortress Kronstadt on a private car with a guide.
